What Does an LMIA Business Plan Include?

All our plans are written for the specific needs of the client, but a typical LMIA Owner Operator Business plan from Bsbcon would include the following sections:

● Executive Summary
● Description of the Business
● Management & Staffing
● Marketing and Sales Plan
● Operating Plan
● Financial Plan and Projection

The Marketing and Sales Plan

will describe the industry sector, market size and growth rate, competition and competitive advantages of your company; furthermore, this section will describe how you will bring your products to market.

The Operating Plan

includes details of premises required by your company and any capital investment required to produce your goods or services for sale. We include information on logistics of securing raw materials and delivering your finished products.

The Financial Plan

will include a recent balance sheet, some historical financial data, plus projections for several years to demonstrate that you will be leading the business to profit and success.

The Executive Summary

is key to a successful application. This is what the government officer will read first. It will demonstrate concisely and in a professional format that you will be purchasing or setting up a viable business, that you have a controlling share and that your management participation is essential to the success of the business.

Management & Staffing

is an important section that should focus on your role as being essential to the success of the business. You will need to show your previous business experience and that your activities justify the senior management role that you are claiming in your application. This is often achieved by including an organization chart showing management level employees reporting to you. You need to demonstrate that your involvement in the business will either help retain jobs in Canada, or create new ones.

The Description of the Business

will include the location, the legal name and set-up of the business. You must explain the ownership structure and that you will have a controlling interest (more than 51%) in the business. We would describe what products or services the business offers and how it makes money.

Improve Your Chances with a Successful LMIA Owner Operator Business Plan

A professionally written business plan is sure to add weight to an LMIA Owner Operator Program application. The plan will demonstrate to the assessor that you have a serious commitment to the success of the business and demonstrate important projected data to show it is viable.

It is important to carefully set out your job function within the business. When it comes to applying for the Express Entry route to Permanent Residency (PR) the points awarded to a “manager” position are far fewer than for a “senior manager” (a manager which manages other managers). However you describe your role and function, you must ensure it matches the job advertisements you are now required to place for your Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

We look forward to partnering with you or your Canadian Immigration consulting firm to develop a winning Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) Owner Operator Business Plan.
